Je suis très heureux de vous annoncer que notre blog a à nouveau reçu un Liebster Award de la part de nos potes à pattes Edwyn et Faïel.

Comme Loupi a déjà reçu cette distinction, c'est moi qui vais répondre à leurs questions :

Quelle est ta couleur préférée ?
Chocolat noir bien sûr, comme moi : de loin, on dirait que je suis noir, mais au soleil j'ai des reflets havane du plus bel effet.
As-tu des amis à 4 pattes (chat, chien, lapin, etc.) ou d’autres animaux ?
Bien sûr, Loupi, l'autre chat de la maison !
Vis-tu dans un appartement ou une maison et à la ville ou à la campagne ?
Je vis dans une maison à la campagne.
Combien d’humains as-tu à ton service ?
J'ai deux humains à mon service.
Quelle est ton activité préférée (jouer, dormir, manger…) ?
Après ma patrouille au jardin, j'aime dormir, après avoir dormi, j'aime manger, et après avoir mangé, j'aime jouer. Ensuite, comme je suis fatigué par ma séance de jeu, j'aime à nouveau dormir.
As-tu une activité différente ou extraordinaire ?
Euh... Je ne vois pas... Etre un chat est déjà en soi extraordinaire, n'est-ce pas ?
Quels sont ton aliment et ta boisson préférés ?
J'adore le thon en boîte, et l'eau est ma boisson favorite.
Quel est ton endroit préféré pour dormir ?
Le canapé, ou le panier de l'arbre à chat
Préfères-tu l’intérieur ou l’extérieur pour jouer et dormir ?
Ça dépend si Loupi est d'humeur à me taper, et de la température.
As-tu déjà goûté la nourriture et la boisson des humains ? Si oui, quoi et qu’en as-tu pensé ?
A priori, j'aime tout ce que les humains mangent, bien qu'ils ne soient pas souvent de mon avis... 
Aimerais-tu être un humain ? Pourquoi ?
Oh non, jamais de la vie ! Ils ont des horaires, il faut travailler, ils ne dorment que 8 heures sur 24 : c'est une vie d'esclave (la preuve, ils sont à notre service !)

Dark chocolate of course, as me : by far, it looks like I am black, but in the sun I have Havana reflections of the most beautiful effect.

Of course, Loupi, the other cat of the house!

I live in a house in the countryside.
How many humans have you to your service ?
I have two humans to my service.
What is your favorite activity (play, sleep, eat) ?
After my patrol in the garden, I like sleeping, having slept, I like eating, and having eaten, I like playing. Then, as I am tired by my session of playing, I again like sleeping.
Have you a different or extraordinary activity ?
Euh... I do not see... Being a cat is already in itself extraordinary, right?
What are your food and your drink preferred ?
I adore tuna in can, and the water is my favorite drink.

The sofa, or the basket of the cat tree.

That depends if Loupi is of humor to bang me, and of the temperature.

Rebelle - Rebel

Zorro a 10 mois ; c'est un adolescent blasé que mes baffes n'impressionnent plus : il attend juste que l'orage passe. Le pire, c'est que c'est moi qui me fait gronder par les domestiqués quand je me contente de lui rappeler qui est le chef !

Alors, j'ai décidé de refaire ma crise d'adolescence aussi : je me rebelle, je brave les interdits.

Il est interdit d'amener une proie à l'intérieur : j'ai rapporté un oiseau dans la cuisine samedi, et j'ai laissé les ailes et la queue comme trace de mon méfait. Claire a vu, mais a oublié de le dire à Momo. Dimanche, j'ai donc rapporté une souris ; Momo a essayé de me la prendre, mais j'ai été plus rapide que lui, et j'ai fini de la manger dans une autre chambre.

Il est interdit d'aller sur la table quand il y a la nappe : dimanche matin, je me suis installé sur la nappe, et j'ai goûté le déjeuner de Claire (des flocons d'avoine, c'était dégueulasse !).

Il est interdit d'être grossier avec ses domestiqués : je les ai soufflé parce que quelque chose m'avait contrarié (et j'ai filé...)

Je suis un rebelle, sans toit (sauf s'il pleut), ni loi (sauf si tu m'offres une friandise) !


Zorro is 10 months old ; he is a blasé teenager whom my slaps do not impress any more : he just waits for the storm to pass. The worst, it is I who makes me scold by the hoomans when I content with reminding to him who is the leader !

Then, I decided to redo my adolescent crisis also : I rebel, I defy prohibitions.

It is forbidden to bring a prey inside : I brought back a bird in the kitchen on Saturday, and I left wings and tail as track of my misdeed. Claire saw, but forgot to say it to Momo. On Sunday, I thus brought back a mouse; Momo tried to take it to me, but I was faster than him, and I stopped eating it in another room.

It is forbidden to go on the table when there is a tablecloth : on Sunday morning, I settled down on the tablecloth, and I enjoyed Claire's lunch (oat flakes, it was yucky ! ).

It is forbidden to be unrefined with its hoomans : I blew them because something had opposed me (and I took off...)

I am a rebel, without roof (unless it is raining), nor law (unless you offer me a treat) !

C'est mon anniversaire ! It's my birthday !

C'est mon anniversaire aujourd'hui ! J'ai 5 ans ! Comme cadeau, j'ai reçu quelques grosses crevettes de la part de Claire et Momo, j'ai donné une baffe supplémentaire gratuite à Zorro, et je me suis offert une sieste "spécial anniversaire" : quelle belle journée !

It is my birthday today! I am 5 years old ! As present, I received some big shrimps from Claire and Momo, I gave a free additional slap to Zorro, and I offered myself a "special birthday" nap : what a beautiful day!

Assistant personnel - Personal assistant

Claire a beaucoup de travail ces temps, et ça va durer jusqu'au mois de juillet, alors je me suis auto-promu au rang d'assistant personnel. Je supervise tout depuis le dossier de la chaise.
De cet endroit stratégique, je peux voir ce qui se passe dehors par la fenêtre, surveiller l'écran de l'ordinateur, et contrôler le travail en cours sur le bureau. Je peux tapoter la tête de Claire ou lui mordiller l'oreille pour la concentrer à nouveau sur sa tâche en cas de distraction, et sauter directement sur ses genoux pour l'encourager.
Je vais aussi sur le bureau pour l'aider à tourner les pages, réorganiser le classement des feuilles, mettre les stylos à leur place, et ranger les câbles du clavier et de la souris de l'ordinateur.
Ce travail est épuisant ; je n'oublie donc pas de me ménager des plages de repos, car si je suis trop fatigué, qui aidera Claire ? Pas Loupi en tout cas, lui se contente du rôle de soutien moral...

Claire has a lot of work these time, and that is going to last until July, then I auto-promoted to the rank of personal assistant. I oversee everything from the back of the chair.
Of this strategic place, I can see what takes place outside through the window, watch the screen of the computer, and check the current work on the desk. I can tap Claire's head or nibble her the ear to concentrate her again on its task in case of entertainment, and jump directly on her knees to encourage her.
I also go on the desk to help her to turn pages, to reorganize the classification of sheets, to put pens in their place, and to tidy up the cables of the keyboard and the mouse of the computer.
This work is exhausting; I do not thus forget to leave moments of rest, because if I am too much tired, who will help Claire? Not Loupi in any case, he contents himself with the role of moral support...

Wordless wednesday

Premières sorties - First releases

Cette fois, ça y est : j'ai le droit de sortir !

Ma toute première fois, c'était dimanche 7 avril : comme mon excursion n'a duré que 23 secondes, elle a pu être filmée dans son intégralité.
Ça n'a pas été sans peine : j'avais de la peine à ouvrir cette foutue chatière (Claire et Momo ont dû beaucoup m'assister), et quand j'arrivais enfin à passer, le battant coinçait le bout de ma queue en se refermant ! Bilan mitigé...

Le lendemain, j'ai amélioré ma technique, et je me suis enhardi : je réussis à sortir vraiment tout seul, et j'ai exploré le jardin pendant plus de deux heures. J'ai même réussi à rentrer tout seul aussi par le même chemin. Pendant tout ce temps, Loupi me surveillait discrètement d'un oeil attentif. Claire est enchantée, car elle a remarqué que j'avais peur des voitures et qu'en plus je ne sortais pas du périmètre du jardin (pour le moment...).

Depuis ce jour, c'est génial : je rentre et je sors comme je veux. Le plus souvent, je suis Loupi, et je veille sur le jardin pendant qu'il patrouille dans le voisinage et chasse une ou deux souris.

That was not easy : I had difficulty in opening this damned cat flap (Claire and Momo had to a lot assist me), and when I managed finally to pass, the flap stuck the end of my tail by closing! Reserved balance assessment...

The next day, I improved my technique, and I became bolder : I manage to go out really of myself, and I investigated the garden during more than two hours. I even managed to return of myself also by the same way. All this time, Loupi watched me discreetly of an attentive eye. Claire is enchanted, because she noticed that I was afraid of cars and that in more I did not go out of the perimeter of the garden (for the moment).

For this day, it is brilliant: I get in and I go out as I want. Mostly, I follow Loupi, and I stay up the garden while he patrols in the neighborhood and hunts one or two mice.

Une idée nous trotte dans la tête : grâce aux statistiques de Google, nous avons vu que la majorité de nos copains chats miaulent en anglais. Alors, pourquoi ne pas mettre une traduction en anglais sous l'article original en français ?
Notre anglais n'est pas parfait
- Loupi : "Surtout celui de Zorro, il est encore petit."
- Zorro : "C'est pas vrai !"
... mais nous comptons sur votre indulgence : nous sommes sûrs que notre traduction sera moins fantaisiste que celle de Google Translate.
Qu'en pensez-vous amis anglophones ?

PS : nous pourrions peut-être aussi donner l'idée à Claire pour son blog ? Qu'en pensent vos mamis ?

An idea keeps running through our mind : thanks to the statistics of Google, we saw that the majority of our catpals mew in English. Then, why not to put a translation in English under the original article in French? 
Our English is not purrfect...
- Loupi : "Especially the one of Zorro, he is still small."
- Zorro : "It's not true !"
... but we count on your indulgence : we are sure that our translation will be less fanciful than the one of Google Translate.What do you think about it English-speaking friends ?

PS : we could give maybe also the idea to Claire for her blog ? What do your mums think of it ?
